Harvard University to Host 2012 Men's North-South Tournament this Weekend

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases the schedule of games for the 2012 North/South Tournament on Saturday-Sunday, September 15-16 at Harvard University's Blodgett Pool.

Featuring quartets of teams from both the Southern (Princeton University, Bucknell University, George Washington University, Mercyhurst University) and Northern (St. Francis College, Brown University, Harvard, Iona College) Divisions, the tournament was established by mututal consent of the league's varsity head coaches to take the place of the previously contested Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championship prior to last season.

Smaller than last year's 13-team field in part due to the Navy Invitational and the NorCal Tournament occurring on the same weekend, the 12-game tournament will pit the eight teams in potential previews for the 2012 CWPA Eastern Championship set for November 16-18 at Princeton's DeNunzio Pool.
