Scott Hartkorn Named Director of Membership Services & Assistant Director of Multimedia
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. – The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) announces the hiring of Scott Hartkorn as the league’s Director of Membership Services and Assistant Director of Multimedia Services.
“The Membership Director position is the first contact that the more than 280 teams in the league have with the league office,” noted CWPA Commissioner Dan Sharadin. “The ability to fill the position with someone of Scott’s character and talents more than meets the needs of the league, it allows us to provide services which we have wished to implement over the past several seasons.”
In his position, Hartkorn will be responsible for membership orientation, development and satisfaction, including the coordination of hotel room blocks and event management for the league's more than 280 members at division, regional and national championships around the country.
The primary contact for the league’s men’s Division III Collegiate Club, women’s Division III varsity and men’s/women’s National Collegiate Club and CWPA Eastern Championships, Hartkorn will coordinate the league's Hall of Fame ceremony holding responsibilities for assisting in site selection, event planning and management. In addition, he will serve as the league’s primary marketing specialist for ticket and merchandise sales, concessions management and clinic registrations.
An emphasis of the position will be the reservation and management of the CWPA’s hotel booking process for referees at regular season and championship events around the nation during both the men’s and women’s seasons.
He will also serve to coordinate the distribution of the All-Conference, All-America, Scholar Athlete of the Year and Scholar-Athlete Teams and the fulfillment of the league’s photography service.
In addition to his duties as Director of Membership Services, Hartkorn will also be responsible for assisting in the coordination and improved production of the league’s streaming efforts, including the Men’s and Women’s National Collegiate Club Championship, CWPA Eastern Championship, Men’s Division III Collegiate Club and Women’s Division III Eastern Championship, with CWPA Director of Multimedia Alex Lourido.
Prior to joining the CWPA, Hartkorn served as the Multimedia Coordinator at Villanova University overseeing the shooting and editing of digital footage of all football games and practices from August 2011 to May 2012. Responsible for the coordination of five student video assistants, he designed promotional videos to generate interest for upcoming events posted online.
A former Customer Service Associate at Prudential Financial (July 2010-to-July 2011), he began his professional career while a student at Temple University prior to graduation in the spring of 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcasting, Telecommunications and Mass Media.
He assisted with the production of team highlight videos shown at weekly events and season-ending banquets and shot multiple events for “Owl Access”, a broadcast covering Temple’s Division I athletics program, in addition to being responsible for the production of promotional videos to create awareness for fundraising efforts.
His most important contribution to Temple was serving as the co-creator of “Owl Outlook,” a daily video update of football training camp posted to the official website.
The largest single sport conference and the second largest collegiate athletic association behind only the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), the Collegiate Water Polo Association oversees more than 280 teams on the varsity and club level for both men and women around the country.
