Harvard University Hangs 15-7 Loss on Bucknell University to Claim Third Place at Southern Division Championship Tournament

LEWISBURG, Pa. -- Devan Kennifer scored four times and Monica Zdrojewski and Shayna Price also netted hat tricks to lead the Harvard University women's water polo team to a 15-7 win at Bucknell University in the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Southern Division Championship third-place game.

The win was the Crimson's fourth straight over Bucknell in the last two years.

The two teams played a high-scoring first quarter, as Harvard left the frame with a 4-3 advantage. The Crimson turned up the defensive pressure in the second stanza, limiting the Bison to one goal, and added four more scores to gain a four-goal lead.

Harvard coasted in the second half, adding another six goals, to be awarded third-place at the tournament.

Other than Kennifer, Zdrojewski and S. Price, Shannon Purcell, Aisha Price, Riley Kessler, Elise Molnar and Victoria Frager also found the back of the cage. Purcell added four assists and Kennifer and A. Price made five steals apiece.

Ariel Dukes had five stops in goal for Harvard and Jasmine Griffin added a save.
