2012 CWPA Eastern Championship Seeding to be Released on Tuesday, April 17

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- The seeding for the 2012 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Eastern Championship at Brown University next weekend will be released on Tuesday, April 17 following a period of consideration by the league's elected seeding committee.

Elected by the league's member institutions head coaches at the CWPA Annual Meeting during the summer, the committee is comprised of Matthew Anderson (University of Michigan) and Alan Huckins (Hartwick College) of the Western Divsion, Luis Nicolao (Princeton University) and Felix Mercado (Brown University) of the Southern Division, and neutral representative JJ Addison (Connecticut College).

Per league policy, the Western and Southern Division champions are guaranteed the top two seeds in the tournament field as Michigan (Western) and Princeton (Southern) will be placed into No. 1 or 2 based on their cumulative league results.  Results against non-CWPA competition will also be considered for seeding, so games against Brown, Bucknell University, George Washington University, Harvard University, Mercyhurst College, Princeton, Gannon University, Hartwick, Indiana University, Notre Dame College (Ohio), Salem International University, University of Maryland and Michigan or any other varsity opponent can be used to determine the seeding order for the programs.

The remaining 11 teams for the 13-program field will also be seeded exclusively on their cumulative results.
