COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- Due to the University of Maryland's 10-9 win over the University of Michigan earlier today, the bracket for the 2012 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Western Division Championship at Indiana University on April 14-15 in Bloomington, Ind. is now set.

Action begins at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 14 as No. 4 seed/No. 20-ranked Hartwick College meets No. 5 seed Gannon University. No. 2 seed/No. 12 Indiana University meets No. 7 seed Salem International University at 11:00 a.m., while No. 3 seed/No. 13-ranked Michigan faces Notre Dame College at 12:30 p.m. to conclude first round competition.

The Losers of Games 1 and 2 will then square off at 3:00 p.m. before No. 11-ranked and top-seeded Maryland, who finished with a perfect 6-0 mark in division play, starts play after a first round bye with a 4:30 p.m. semifinal match-up against the victor of the Hartwick-Gannon game.  The winners of the Michigan-Notre Dame and Indiana-SIU games will meet in the either semifinal at 6:00 p.m.  At 7:30 p.m., the Loser Game 2 and Loser Game 3 will clash to conclude first day action.

On Sunday, April 15, play resumes at 9:00 a.m. as the Losers of Games 1 and 3 meet as the won/loss records from Games 4, 7 and 8 decide the order of finish from fifth through seventh place. 

Third Place will be decided at 10:30 a.m. when the defeated from the semfinal match-ups face-off, while the title tilt will begin at Noon with the division championship on the line.

The Western Division Champion is guaranteed no lower than the No. 2 seed for the CWPA Eastern Championship on April 27-29 at Brown University in Providence, R.I., while the remainder of the field featuring all the teams from the Western and Southern Divisions will be established via a seeding commitee comprised of the league's head coaches.
