Matt Anderson Poolside Preview (April 4, 2012)
ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- University of Michigan head coach Matt Anderson recently sat down with the institution's Office of Athletic Communications to discuss the No. 13-ranked Wolverines upcoming games at the University of Maryland and the potential of the Maize & Blue to clinch the Western Division's No. 1 seed.
Michigan (16-10, 4-1 CWPA) will travel to the University of Maryland Eppley Recreation Center in College Park, Md., to play George Washington University on Friday (April 6) at 6 p.m. before closing out the regular season on Saturday (April 7) against Bucknell University at 9:30 a.m. and No. 11 Maryland at 1 p.m.
The match-up against Maryland will be the Wolverines' final CWPA game and will be one of the deciding factors in a three-way bout for the top seed of the Western Divisional Championship, which starts April 14.
Michigan has won nine of its last 10 games. However, the Wolverines nine-game win streak came to an end last Saturday (March 31) after suffering their first conference loss of the season, against No. 12Indiana University at home, 8-7.
