Hartwick College's Kamila Zakirova Recognized as March 26 Western Division Rookie of the Week
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Hartwick College's Kamila Zakirova (Fr., Almaty, Kazakhstan) recorded 12 goals, seven assists and seven steals in a 3-1 weekend for the No. 16 Hawks at the CSU Bakersfield Roadrunner Invitational II to earn the March 26 Women's Varsity Western Division Rookie of the Week award.
She aided the Hawks against California State University-East Bay (14-12 W), California Baptist University (11-9 L), Division III No. 4 University of Redlands (16-5 W) and California State University-Monterey Bay (13-6 W) during Hartwick's West Coast trip.
It marks the second weekly honor of the season for Zakirova as she previously garnered notice as the February 20 Western Division Rookie of the Week.
