George Washington University's Meagan Moreland Named the February 13 Southern Division Rookie of the Week
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Meagan Moreland (Fr., La Jolla, Calif./La Jolla) of George Washington University collected seven points during her first collegiate weekend at the Princeton Invitational to earn the February 13 Women's Varsity Southern Division Rookie of the Week.
Moreland scored four goals on just five shots and chipped in with three assists and five steals to help the Colonials to a 2-1 record. She kicked off her career with a goal and three steals against Villanova University (W, 15-7). Her biggest game of the weekend came in the form of a five-point effort, two goals and a playmaker, in the program's first ever victory over Brown University (W, 10-9). She also had a goal in a loss to Bucknell University (L, 16-8).
