Fordham University's Scott Kwiatowski Named 2011 Men's Varsity Northern Division Sports Information Director of the Year
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Fordham University's Scott Kwiatowski is the Men's Varsity Northern Division Sports Information Director of the Year for the 2010-11 season.
Selected by the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Director of Communications in consultation with the league's membership, the SID of the Year award is presented to those offices which have achieved notable excellence in the field of water polo communications during the past academic year.
The assistant sports information director at Fordham for the past 10 years, Kwiatkowski is the primary contact for volleyball, men's & women's soccer, water polo, cross country/track & field, swimming & diving, squash, softball, baseball, and golf.
A member of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), he has worked an official statistician for New York area colleges, as well as for the New York Dragons (Arena Football), the Westchester Wildfire (USBL), and the WNBA Pre-Draft Camp.
A 2001 graduate of Fordham with a bachelor's degree in Communications & Media Studies, he interned with American Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) Sports Radio in the fall of 2000, served as a freelance writer for newspapers, such as The Telegram Gazette in Worcester, Massachusetts, and worked at the 2001 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Men's Basketball Tournament.
The award marks his second major nod during his career as he also garnered the 2008 Jack Coffey Award, which is presented to a Fordham administrator, alumnus, or coach for outstanding contributions and dedication to the athletic program.
