Peter Schulam Earns Princeton University's Scott A. C. Roche '94 Memorial Award

PRINCETON, N.J. -- Senior Peter Schulam (Malibu, Calif./Malibu) of the Princeton University men's water polo team was named the recipient of the team's Scott A. C. Roche '94 Memorial Water Polo Award. Schulam received the award at the team's year-end banquet on Monday.

"Peter is very deserving of the award," says Princeton Head Coach Luis Nicolao. "The guys have recognized how hard he has worked over his four years at Princeton. He has been an amazing example both in and out of the pool since he stepped on campus. I am very happy for him."

The Roche Award is presented annually, by election of the team, to the senior player who, like Scott, led with energy and determination, intense competitive spirit and a contagious love of the game and is presented by Scott's family and friends. The award was first presented in 1998 and recent winners have included Zach Beckmann (2007), Alex Edmunds (2008) and Scottie Hvidt (2009).

Schulam is a four-year letterwinner for the Tigers and scored seven career goals in 60 games played. He also contributed seven assists and 13 steals over the years as a valuable member of the Princeton bench. A four-time member of the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Scholar Athlete Team, Schulam is a computer science major.
