Carthage College's Christine Menzenberger Named March 21 Division III Player of the Week
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Carthage College goalie Christine Menzenberger (Sr., Mokena, Ill./Franfort-Lincoln-Way East) posted 51 saves and 11 assists in a 5-0 weekend for the Lady Reds at home during the Collegiate Water Polo Association Central vs. West Tournament to claim the Women's Varsity Division III Player of the Week award.
Menzenberger, who previously earned the March 21 Division III Defensive Player of the Week award, helped then No. 10-nationally ranked Carthage sink Wheaton College (14-3 W), No. 9 Grove City College (10-7 W), Macalester College (17-9 W), Washington & Jefferson (13-3 W) and Chatham University (16-6 W) as the Lady Reds completed the division regular season with a 10-0 mark to earn the No. 1 seed for the CWPA Division III Eastern Championship on April 29-30 at Macalester College.
Her best performance of the weekend came against Grove City as she made 10 saves with an assist in a rematch of the 2010 Division III Eastern Championship title game.
