CWPA Releases 2011 Men's Club All-Conference Teams; 244 Student-Athletes Honored by League
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) announces the selection of 244 student-athletes to the 2011 Men's National Collegiate Club All-Conference teams.
Comprised of 244 student-athletes (122 first team, 122 second team), the team selection process marks the largest All-Conference balloting procedure in collegiate sports (varsity or club) with each of the league's over 150 men's collegiate club teams nominating and selecting the "best-of-the-best" in their division from the 2011 campaign. The first team selections from each division advance to the National Collegiate Club All-America ballot.
Per CWPA guidelines, first team selections will receive an award for their selection. In 2011, the award is a dark blue carry-on bag featuring the league's logo. In addition, the Coach of the Year in each division will receive a padfolio, while the Most Valuable Player will receive a plaque and a custom designed Turbo waterpolo suit to commemorate the student-athlete's selection as the top player in his division during the 2011 season.
Overall, a total of 107 schools earned an All-Conference player in 2011 to establish a new high mark in the league's history.
