Collegiate Water Polo Association Releases 2012 Women's National Collegiate Club Week 1/February 2 Poll

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- The University of California-Los Angeles (96 points) took over the top position in the 2012 Women's National Collegiate Club Week 1/February 2 Poll. The Bruins dethroned four-time defending National Collegiate Club Champion California Polytechnic State University (92 points), which fell to No. 3. 

As the season gets underway, the poll saw movement across the rankings. The University of Michigan (93 points) moved up to the No. 2 ranking, passing the Mustangs whom slipped to third. The University of California-Davis (89 points), University of Oregon (80 points), University of Florida (75 points), University of Notre Dame (66 points), Pennsylvania State University (61 points), Arizona State University (56 points), University of Texas (47 points), University of California-Berkeley (46 points) and Dartmouth College (45 points) make up No. 4-through-12 in the poll.

The University of California-San Diego (44 points) made the biggest jump in the polls, moving to No. 13 after receiving a preseason ranking of No. 20. The University of California-Santa Barbara (34 points), University of California-Santa Cruz (32 points), Texas A&M University (26 points), University of Arizona (21 points), University of Central Florida (18 points), Middlebury College (15 points) and Miami University of Ohio (9 points) round out the Top 20. Indiana University (8 points) also earned votes.
