Bucknell Women's Water Polo Volunteers at Animal Refuge
December 2, 2009
LEWISBURG, Pa. --
Using some of its offseason to help an important local
organization, the Bucknell University women's water polo team spent
a Sunday in late October volunteering at T&D's Cats of the
World in nearby Penns Creek, Pa. T&D's Cats of the World
is an animal refuge that specializes in exotic felines and
wildlife.
The Bison women's water polo team members were charged with making
an inventory of all the items in the gift shop and packing the
products away for the winter. The products were put away in bins,
protecting them from damage during the winter months.
In return for their hard work, the Bison team members were
rewarded with a tour of the fascinating animal haven.
T&D's Cats of the World is dedicated to providing a safe haven
for unwanted, abused and mistreated exotic and wild animals.
T&D's strives to provide the best care possible for the
animals, and to educate the public. The family-owned business is
open on Saturdays and Sundays from May through September.
Volunteering at T&D's Cats of the World is one of the many
demonstrations of the Bucknell women's water polo team's year-long
commitment to community service.
