GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Matt Clark (Sr., Salt Lake City, Utah) and Danny Bradley (Sr., Salt Lake City, Utah) both scored four goals as the No. 2-nationally ranked Utes of the University of Utah handled No. 7 University of Washington 18-8 in the seventh place game of the 2009 Men's National Collegiate Club Championship at the University of Florida.

Clark, who earned Player of the Game honors for his performance, helped the Utes pull away to victory as he scored a man-up goal with 5:46 left in the second period to start a 4-0 run by Utah to build a 7-3 lead.

Christian Hayes (Fr., Salt Lake City, Utah) added a direct shot at the 4:53 mark before Bradley pumped and shot a pair of shots past Washington goalie Jonny Muir (Sr., San Jose, Calif.) at the 4:12 and 3:47 marks to take a 7-3 lead.

Following a goal by the Huskies' Sam Sussman (So., Mercer Island, Wash.) to move his team within striking distance at 7-4, Victor Gappmaier (Sr., Salt Lake City, Utah) and Hayes struck again to close out the half and carry a 9-4 lead into the break.

Utah continued to pour in the goals to open the second half as Tyler Pool (Jr., Park City, Utah) and Gappmaier connected on shots at the 6:39 and 5:16 marks, respectively, to stake the Utes to a nearly insurmountable 11-4 lead.

Washington failed to move within six goals the rest of the way as Joe Laird (Fr., La Jolla, Calif.) found the back of the cage at 4:35 with man-up goal to make it 11-5.  However, Bradley and Vig Mikulis (Sr., Salt Lake City, Utah) added markers at 3:25 and 2:51 to move the lead to 13-5.  Washington sliced the lead to seven at 13-6 with 33 seconds left in the third period, but Clark went back-to-back with 14 and four seconds on the clock to give the Utes a 15-6 lead after 21 minutes of play.

The lead and Utah's ability to counterpunch were too much for Washington to overcome in seven minutes of play as the Huskies fell to finish eighth in the final tournament standings.

In cage, Sam Thomas (Jr., Salt Lake City, Utah) and Ian Cobb (Fr., Salt Lake City, Utah) combined for eight Utah saves, while Muir and Arad Abadi (Sr., Shiraz, Iran) racked up seven saves for the Huskies.
