Yale's Jay Kim Named November 2 New England Division Player of the Week
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Yale University's Jay Kim (Sr., La Crescenta, Calif.) scored twice, handed out an assist and collected five steals in the division title game as the Bulldogs defeated University of Massachusetts (14-5 W), Williams College (7-4 W) and Dartmouth College (11-6 W) to capture the New England Division Championship. It marks Yale's first division title since 2005.
Down 5-3 to Dartmouth with three minutes remaining in the second quarter in the division title game, Jay drove the length of the pool and put in a shot over the Dartmouth goalie's head to pull his team to within a goal. The tally jump-started an 8-0 Bulldogs' run as Yale pulled away. He added another marker in the second half and collected five steals against the Big Green to contain Dartmouth's powerful two-meter offense.
