UIC's Mike Walsh Named October 26 Great Lakes Division Player of the Week

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- University of Illinois-Chicago's Mike Walsh (Sr., Chicago, Ill./Saint Patrick) scored nine goals, handed out four assists and collected four steals to earn the October 26 Great Lakes Division Player of the Week award while leading the Flames to the division championship and a spot at the National Collegiate Club Championship at the Unviersity of Florida in Gainesville.

He helped the Flames burn University of Dayton (21-13 W) and University of Notre Dame (10-5 W) before stopping Grand Valley State University (11-8 W) for the division title.

University of Illinois-Chicago will make its third appearance at the National Collegiate Club Championship as the Flames previously competed at the 2006 and 2008 tournaments, hosted by Miami University (Ohio) and Ohio University, respectively.  Overall, it marks the first time UIC has captured its division title as the Flames previously competed in the Missouri Valley Division and earned spots in the National Collegiate Club field as the division runner-up when champion Lindenwood University accepted berths in the Division III National Collegiate Club Championship.
