CWPA to Stream 2009 Men's Varsity & Collegiate Club Championships in November

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. --  The Collegiate Water Polo Association will become the first water polo conference in the country to video-stream games this fall as the league will bring the Varsity Eastern, National Collegiate Club and Division III National Collegiate Club Championships onto the computers of the league's fans.

Although on a limited schedule initially, the intent is to expand the program to include both championship and regular season contests throughout the entire year.  In addition, the league hopes to enhance and enrich the streaming experience by featuring a "Game of the Week" from various divisions (varsity & club) around the United States.

During the upcoming championship season, the following events will have portions of their competition streamed:

  • Division III National Collegiate Club Championship, November 7-8
  • National Collegiate Club Championship, November 13-15
  • Eastern Varsity Championship, November 20-22

In order to keep league fees from escalating, the costs involved with streaming the contests will be underwritten through a pay per view option. In this fashion, fans from anywhere in the country can log in to see their favorite team compete for the cost of a weekend ticket at the event without the expense of travel costs and hotels.

Additional informatioon about the times and costs of the coverage will be posted on the website prior to each championship.
