California Reclaims Sole Possession of No. 1 in October 22 Men's Collegiate Club Top 20 Poll

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- For the first time since the October 1 poll, the University of California is the lone No. 1 ranked team in the country as the Golden Bears garnered 98 points to break a tie with the University of Utah in the October 22 Men's National Collegiate Club Top 20 Poll. Cal, which has been ranked No. 1 for four weeks since the October 1 poll, is followed by Utah, University of California-Los Angeles, Florida International University and Arizona State University in the Top Five.

Cal, which jumped from No. 16 to 1 in the October 1 poll following a breakout weekend, stands at 8-0 in Pacific Coast Division-Northern Region play against some of the nation's best teams, including No. 6 University of California-Davis and No. 11 California State University-Chico, edged Utah by two points as the Utes garnered 96 points.

UCLA moves up to No. 3, while FIU falls to No. 4, Arizona State holds steady at No. 5, UC-Davis and University of Michigan trade No. 6 and 7, while University of Arizona and University of Colorado exchanged the No. 8 and 9 spots.

Michigan State University moves back into the Top 10 at 10th, while CSU-Chico and Texas A&M University are tied at No. 11 after ranking at 10th and 14th, respectivley, last week.

Lindenwood University, California Polytechnic State University and University of Florida complete the Top 15.

University of Texas and University of Oregon are tied at No. 16, while Pennsylvania State University, University of California-Irvine and Yale University complete the Top 20 for competition through October 18.
