Bucknell's Richie Hyden Named October 19 Men's Varsity Southern Division Player of the Week
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Richie Hyden (Jr., Melbourne, Australia/Greenwich (Conn.)) scored five goals with three assists, four steals, 13 ejections drawn and one field block as the Bucknell University junior earned the October 19 Men's Varsity Southern Division Player of the Week award.
Keying the Bison scoring attack in a 1-1 week, he scored four time with three assists, four steals, six ejections drawn and a field block versus Johns Hopkins University in a 13-8 win. He added a goal and a career-high seven ejections drawn in a 10-7 loss to the United States Naval Academy later in the week.
Overall, his seven points against JHU marked the most by a Bison in 2009, while his seven ejections against Navy were the most by a Bucknell player since 2004.
Second on the team in goals this year with 41, he has at least one point in each of the past 13 games he has played. The team leader in points (70), ejections drawn (48) and assists (29), he now has 168 goals and 111 assists for 279 points in his three-year career.
