Monmouth's Joe Moran & Macalester's Jeff Yamashita Named October 12 Heartland Division Co-Players of the Week

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Monmouth College's Joe Moran (Sr., Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley) and Macalester College's Jeff Yamashita (Jr., Honolulu, Hawaii/Iolani) have been named the October 12 Heartland Division Co-Players of the Week for the period of October 4-11.

Yamashita tallied 12 goals, eight assists, two saves and 24 steals over the weekend as he helped Macalester defeat Saint Mary's University (Minn.) (12-6 W) and Knox College (13-2 W), while falling to Saint John's University (Minn.) (12-1 L) and Grinnell College (12-8 L) to secure the No. 5 seed for the upcoming Heartland Division Championship on October 24-25 at Macalester.

For Monmouth, Moran chipped in 19 goals, including six versus Knox (18-6 W) and three versus Grinnell (11-8 W) to lock up the No. 1 seed for the Heartland Division Championship, with seven assists and three blocked shots.  In addition, he helped the Fighting Scots/Crab People defeat Saint John's University (14-8 W) and Carleton College (13-4 W).
