Iona Moves Closer to Northern Division No. 1 Seed with 20-8 Win at Connecticut College
NEW LONDON, Conn.
-- The Iona College men's water polo team picked up its
third straight win courtesy a 20-8 defeat of Connecticut College in
New London, Conn. on Friday, October 16. Thirteen players scored
for the Gaels, whose three game winning streak is the squad's
longest since opening last season 3-0.
Freshman Kevin Caulfield added two goals and two
assists while sophomore Ryan Oldendorf had a pair
of goals as well. Freshmen Cody Siemeck and
Connor Bracken each got two goals into the Camels'
net. Sophomores Trevor Creighton and Ryan Scott,
freshmen Joe Dungan, Brandon
Crane, Joseph De Leone and senior
Erik Lilly also each had a goal for the Maroon and
Gold. Junior Seth Tasman handed out two
assists.
Junior goalkeeper Eric Konzem was in goal for a
scoreless first quarter. Lilly played the second and third
quarters, surrendering five goals while sophomore Cameron
Hudson made his first appearance in goal for the Gaels
this season in the fourth quarter.
