Great Plains Division Schedule Revised to Six-Team Format

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Following Marquette University's withdrawl from the men's club Great Plains Division, the division championship on October 24-25 has been revised to a six-team, 11-game format, with Kansas State University, University of Kansas, University of Minnesota, University of Nebraska, Iowa State University and University of Minnesota-Duluth contending for the title.

Minnesota can tie a historic mark in the division this year as the Golden Gophers will seek their fourth straight division title after previously capturing the 2006-08 crowns.  Overall, Western Illinois University, now of the Missouri Valley Division, is tied with Minnesota for the most consecutive Great Plains Division Championships, while WIU continues to singularly hold the record for most Great Plains Division titles with four (1999-01, 2003).

Of the six competing teams, only Iowa State (2005) and Minnesota (2006-08) have previously won the Great Plains championship.
