Mercyhurst Dumps Salem International 13-4 in CWPA Southern Division Competition
NORTH EAST, Pa. -- The Mercyhurst College men’s water polo team secured another win on the evening of October 9, downing Collegiate Water Polo Association Southern Division-West Region foe Salem International 13-4 at the Mercyhurst Aquatic Center.
The Lakers, who have not lost since a 15-4 setback at Navy back on Sept. 6, are now one win shy of tying the program record for most consecutive wins, a mark set at nine games during the 2006 season.
Junior Alex Moggridge powered the Lakers (8-2, 6-0 CWPA) to their eighth-straight victory with a goal and five assists. Freshmen Colin Albue, William Page and Ian Tasman, and junior Andy Sekulski all scored two goals, while junior Kane Ashton, sophomore Gui Alves and freshman Adam Borgman found the back of the cage once to key Mercyhurst to victory.
