Houston's Jon Fouty Named October 5 Texas Division Player of the Week

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Jon Fouty (So., Houston, Texas/Clear Lake) of the University of Houston recorded 11 goals, 17 assists, nine steals, nine ejections drawn and one five-meter shot drawn to earn the October 5 Texas Division Player of the Week honor while helping his team to clinch the No. 3 seed for the division championship tournament.

Overall, the Cougars defeated Baylor University (13-4 W), Texas Tech (15-14 OT W), University of Texas "B" (15-9 W) and Texas State University (9-6 W) for the first 4-0 division weekend in the history of the University of Houston water polo program.

The highlight of the week was the Texas Tech game in which Fouty recorded four goals, five assists, six ejections drawn, a steal and a five-meter penalty shot drawn in the overtime game which decided the No. 3 seed for the Texas Division Championship set for October 24-25 at Houston.
