No. 19 Princeton Stops No. 18 Bucknell 12-5 in CWPA Southern Division Play

PRINCETON, N.J. -- Home pool advantage paid off for No. 19 Princeton University as the Tigers stopped No. 18 Bucknell University's six-game winning streak with a 12-5 victory on October 4 at DeNunzio Pool. The Tigers outscored the Bison 7-2 in the second half for their third straight league win and avenged a 10-9 loss at Bucknell from September 26.

Richie Hyden (Melbourne, Australia/Greenwich (Conn.)) led Bucknell with two goals.

The Bison trailed 5-3 at the half, but a 4-0 fourth quarter propelled Princeton to the easy victory.

Hyden's two goals lifted his team-leading figure to 34, while his career total now stands at 161. Andrew Nelson (Palos Verdes, Calif./Palos Verdes), Spencer Richley (Newport Beach, Calif./Newport Harbor) and Howie Kalter (Durham, N.H./Phillips Academy Andover) chipped in one goal apiece, while Sean Coghlan (Chicago, Ill./Brother Rice) dished out a pair of assists for Bucknell.

In goal, Nick Donahue (Brooklyn, N.Y./Lawrenceville) made nine saves and garnered two of the team's nine steals in taking the loss for the Bison

Bucknell, which is 3-6 against ranked opponents this year, fell to 4-4 at Princeton's DeNunzio Pool, the site of this year's NCAA Championship, this season.

With the win, the Tigers are now 7-5 overall and are now tied for first in the CWPA Southern Division with Bucknell with a matching 4-1 league mark.

If the league season were to end today, Princeton holds the tie-breaker of goals against/goals with a +6 over the Bison and would claim the No. 1 seed for the Southern Division Championship set for November 6-8 in Lewisburg, Pa. on the campus of Bucknell.
