BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Grinnell Collge's Alex Phillips (So., St. Louis, Mo./Clayton) tallied 19 goals in helping the Wild Turkeys knock off St. Mary's University (20-7 W), Macalester College (17-6 W), St. John's University (13-12 W) and Knox College (16-4 W) to lead Grinnell into a tie for first place in the division standings and earn the September 28 Heartland Division Player of the Week award.

The 2008 Heartland Division Most Valuable Player, an All-Conference First Team selection and a All-America Honorable Mention pick, he helped the Wild Turkeys tie with Monmouth College for the top spot in the division standings after one weekend of play.
