University of Maryland Recruit Allison Campbell Shines at Junior World Championship

KHANTY-MANSIYSK, Russia -- Incoming Maryland freshman Allison Campbell competed in the 2009 Water Polo Junior World Championship last week.

Campbell is a British Columbia native and competed for the Canadian team. Team Canada was knocked out of the competition after being defeated by the Netherlands 8-6 in the quarterfinal round.

Campbell will join a Maryland squad which is on the rise. The Terps finished third at the 2009 CWPA Eastern Championship for the best finish in program history and will host the 2010 Eastern Championship.
