BRONX, N.Y. -- The Fordham University Department of Athletics and head coach Bill Harris have released the program's tentative 2009 men's water polo schedule.

Beginning on September 5-6 at the Navy Open on the grounds of the United States Naval Academy, the Rams will play in three tournaments before opening Northern Division play.

Following Navy, the squad will compete in the Princeton Invitational on September 12-13 versus Santa Clara University, George Washington University, Harvard University and Johns Hopkins University before taking part in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championship on September 18-20 also at Princeton.

The Northern Division game slate commences on September 26-27 as Fordham will host Connecticut College (September 26) and Brown University (September 27) with a non-league game against St. Francis College on the 27th.

October 1-3 brings a trip to the West Coast as Fordham will travel to California to take on University of LaVerne (October 1) in a single game before taking part in the Claremont Convergence Tournament on October 2-3.

After 11 days away from competition, the squad will resume Northern Division play hosting Queens College (October 14) and Iona College (October 28), while visiting Harvard and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (October 17).

The postseason will begin on November 7-8 with the Collegiate Water Polo Association Northern Division Championship at Harvard University as the Rams will seek to finish among the top four teams in the division and earn a place in the Eastern Championship set for November 20-22 at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

If the team captures the Eastern title, Fordham will earn the league's automatic bid for the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Championship on December 5-6 at Princeton University.
