Bowdoin to Host 2009 Men's Division III Collegiate Club Championship on November 7-8

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- The Collegiate Water Polo Association has announced the selection of Bowdoin College in Lewiston, Maine as the site of the 2009 Men's Division III Collegiate Club Championship. Featuring some of the best small college water polo teams in the nation, the championship will be contested on November 7-8 at Bowdoin's Leroy Greason Pool.

Comprised primarily of teams from the Missouri Valley, North Atlantic, New England and Heartland Divisions, the championship field will be announced during the fall.

Named for former Bowdoin President Roy Greason, the Greason Pool features 16, deep water, 25 yard long lanes, seating for 1000 spectators, and is equipped to meet all the needs of Bowdoin’s swimmers, divers, and water polo players.

In addition, the pool has hosted several prestigious events, including NESCAC and NCAA Championship meets and has been used as a training site for Olympic swimmers.

The tentative schedule for the championship is available here.  Teams competing for the title and seedings for the tournament will be announced later this fall.
