WASHINGTON, Pa. -- Recent Washington & Jefferson College graduates Jessica Barby (Sinking Spring, Pa./Wilson) and Katie Silvestri (Kingsville, Md./McDonogh) were selected to the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches 2010 Division III Women’s All-America Team.  Both student-athletes were honorable-mention selections.

The ACWPC selected seven players on both the first and second teams and 21 honorable-mention All-Americans.  Pomona-Pitzer’s Tamara Perea was chosen as the National Player of the Year, while her coach, Alex Rodriguez, earned the Coach of the Year award.

Washington & Jefferson had two players honored for the second-straight season as Alicia Sutton and Polly Ziegler were 2009 All-America selections.

Barby’s selection caps a remarkable senior season in which she was named the CWPA Scholar Athlete of the Year as well as a First Team ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA All-America At-Large winner.

Barby enjoyed a record-breaking final year, becoming Washington & Jefferson’s single-season goal scoring leader (69). She also added 21 assists for 90 total points.  Following the season, Barby was selected to the CWPA Women’s All-Conference Division III First Team.

Barby ended her career with 144 goals and 87 assists for 231 career points.  She also compiled 56 steals.

A four-year letter winner, Silvestri finished her career with 52 goals, 41 assists and 72 steals.  Following the 2010 CWPA Division III Eastern Championships, Silvestri was selected to the All-Tournament Team.
