2010 MIT Schedule

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- The Massachusetts Institute of Technology recently announced the Engineers' 2010 men's water polo schedule.  Beginning on September 3-5 with the MIT Invitational and running to at least the Northern Division Championship on November 6-7 at MIT, the Engineers will seek to improve on last year's seventh place finish at the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Eastern Championship.

MIT will begin the season on September 3 versus the University of Redlands, University of the Pacific and fellow CWPA Northern Division team St. Francis College (N.Y.).  Following games versus Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges and a team to be announced on September 4 and 5, respectively, the Engineers will hit the road to travel across the Charles River and visit Harvard University for the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championship on September 17-19.

CWPA Northern Division play starts on September 25-26 as the Engineers host Fordham University and Iona College before an October 1 match-up at home versus the Bears of Brown University.

Following an October 2 non-league road game goes across town at Harvard, the squad will start a string of four Northern Division road contests on October 15-16 in the New York metro region as MIT faces Connecticut College on October 15 before squaring off with Queens College and St. Francis at Queens on October 16.

The two Cambridge, Mass. schools will clash in league competition on October 22 when Harvard travels across the Charles to MIT to begin a three-game, three day string for the Engineers.

On the heels of the Harvard game, MIT will travel to Connecticut College for the 2010 Division III Eastern Championship on October 23-24, before wrapping up the regular season on October 28 at Wheaton College (Mass.) against Brown University.

The Northern Division Championship will be held on November 6-7 at MIT's Zesiger Sports and Fitness Center with the top four teams qualifying for the Eastern Championship on November 19-21 at Bucknell University.
