CWPA Releases Hotel Request Form for 2010-11 Season

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- BookMyGroup, the official hotel provider for the Collegiate Water Polo Association, will supply a service to officials, varsity and club teams needing accomodations at event sites for the 2009-10 season.

Teams are asked to follow the following procedure:

  1. Complete the Hotel Reservation Request Form (PDF / Word) and forward to BookMyGroup via fax at (866) 234-8044 or email at HLeckemby@BookMyGroup.com.  If you should have any specific questions, please call Harry Leckemby, Jr. at (412) 828-3306.
  2. BookMyGroup will send a written confirmation letter with your reservation confirmation number.

The Collegiate Water Polo Association establishes room blocks at area hotels around the sites of competition to assist the varsity and collegiate club teams in acquiring accomodations for the regular season and championship tournaments.

How are hotels selected?

The CWPA searches area hotels to get the best combination of price, location and services at every site. We try to balance the cost per night with other factors. For example, we might be able to stay cheaper 30 minutes from a school, but that is generally not desirable. Our basic parameters include:

  • Distance: Within 20 minutes-preferably closer
  • Cost: Totally dependent upon location. However, lower end of price range is desirable
  • Property: Quality Inn, Days Inn, Econolodge type rather than Marriott, unless cost is similar.
  • Amenities: We look for free breakfast, complimentary rollaways
  • Complimentary rooms: When possible, we try to get free rooms for officials

How do I book my hotels?

Follow the CWPA Procedure through BookMyGroup.

What is a cutoff date?

This is the date that a hotel will release the rooms we have reserved to the general public.

If you fail to hold your rooms with a credit card prior to this date, you may end up paying more or losing your opportunity to stay there.

When should I arrange hotels?

As soon as possible. The longer you wait, the more likely you will miss the hotel's cutoff date.
