CWPA Partners with Stretch Internet to Broadcast 2010 Women's Club & Eastern Championships
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) has reached an agreement with Stretch Internet to provide live, streaming video of the league's 2010 women's National Collegiate Club Championship at the University of Arizona on April 23-25 and the Varsity Eastern Championship on April 30-May 2 at the University of Maryland.
"We're excited to partner with the Collegiate Water Polo Association in this exciting venture," said Stretch Internet President Ryan Ermeling. "They realize the value of reaching their fans in new and exciting ways and we're committed to helping make that feasible. Stretch Internet is devoted to providing a high-quality product and first-class customer service and we look forward to a long relationship with the CWPA and its fans."
In the history of the sport, the CWPA is the first collegiate water polo conference in the nation to offer live streaming of games, an effort which the league hopes to expand to a Game of the Week format over the next year.
“We look forward to a great relationship with Stretch Internet. Their expertise in the field of streaming will be immensely helpful to our conference as we begin this process,” noted CWPA Commissioner Dan Sharadin.
Access to each individual contest through Stretch Internet costs $10 per event. Viewers can also purchase an individual tournament pass for $25 per sport which grants viewers access to every available broadcast during the weekend.

"From our standpoint, bringing the excitement and energy of collegiate water polo to a wider audience continues to be a primary goal of the CWPA," stated Ed Haas, Director of Communications for the Collegiate Water Polo Association. "This service continues our commitment to offering a full-service experience for the league membership and their fans from around the globe. In addition, it allows parents, fans and other teams around the country to see the games from the comfort of their own homes or dorm rooms."
The largest water polo and single-sport conference in the country with teams in 75% of the states nationwide, the Collegiate Water Polo Association is comprised of over 270 teams. on the NCAA Division I, Division III and National Collegiate Club levels to stand as the only conference of its type.
