Washington & Jefferson's Jessica Barby Named April 12 Women's Varsity Division III Co-Player of the Week

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Jessica Barby (Sr., Sinking Springs, Pa./Wilson) of Washington & Jefferson College tallied 21 goals, 12 assists and seven steals in a 4-1 weekend at the final CWPA Division III regular season event to earn a share of the April 12 Women's Varsity Division III Player of the Week award. 

Washington & Jefferson, which defeated Pennsylvania State University-Behrend (16-0 W), Utica College (14-5 W), Chatham University (15-7 W) and Connecticut College (8-7 W) while falling to Grove City College (12-5 L), will continue the season on April 23-24 at Utica as the No. 4 seed for the 2010 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III Championship.

Barby opened the weekend with a career-high eight goals against Penn State-Behrend in accounting for half of the Presidents' total offense.  In addition, she posted four markers versus Utica and Chatham before wrapping up the weekend with five tallies in a one goal win over Connecticut College.

She shares the April 12 Player of the Week award with Kate Stiebler of Grove City College who registered 17 goals, five assists and 15 steals in a 5-0 weekend for the Wolverines to clinch the No. 1 seed for the Division III Championship.
