Chatham University Goes 1-2 on First Day of Division III Event at Connecticut College

NEW LONDON, Conn. -- The Chatham University women’s water polo team fell to Grove City College and Connecticut College by scores of 15-8 and 14-6, respectively, before defeating Utica College in conference play by a final score of 9-5 at the final Collegiate Water Polo Association Division III regular season event of the 2010 season.

First year Sachelle Taylor (Brooklyn, N.Y./Holy Childhood) led all scorers today for the Cougars as she scored three goals in each of the games. Selina Breiner (Moon Township, Pa./Moon Area) followed closely behind, finishing with eight goals on the day. Chatham also saw goals from Natty Burford (Temecula, Calif./Temecula Valley) with three markers, while Jenna Luek (Harmony, Pa./Seneca Valley) and Paige Dunlap (Dillsboro, Ind.) tossed in a pair and solo goals, respectively.

In the 9-5 victory against Utica, goalkeeper Allison Bodine (Frederick, Md.) blocked a sensational 12 shots to help earn her team the victory.
