Brown's Brittany Westerman Named April 5 Women's Varsity Northern Division Rookie of the Week
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Freshman Brittany Westerman (Palo Alto, Calif./Deerfield Academy) of No. 20-ranked Brown University tallied five goals, including a hat-trick versus California Baptist University, to earn the April 5 Women's Varsity Northern Division Rookie of the Week award.
The award marks her second consecutive Northern Division Rookie of the Week nod as she picked up the March 29 accolade for scoring five goals last week.
Westerman opened the week with a goal against Division III No. 5-ranked Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges in a 12-4 win, before tacking on three goals against Cal Baptist in a 12-4 loss. She wrapped up the week with a goal in an 11-7 loss to No. 17-ranked the University of California-San Diego.
Overall, the Bears finished the week 3-4 as Brown faced Division III No. 1-ranked Pomona-Pitzer Colleges (8-3 W), Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, No. 1-ranked the University of Southern California (15-6 L), No. 14 San Diego State University (10-5 L), Cal Baptist, UC-San Diego and California State University-San Bernardino (7-6 W OT).
