Michigan's Keller Felt Named March 15 Women's Varsity Western Division Co-Player of the Week
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Keller Felt (Jr., La Jolla, Calif./La Jolla) of the University of Michigan netted eight goals and four assists in wins over Gannon University, Mercyhurst College, Grove City College, Iona College and Siena College at home to lead the No. 8 Wolverines to a perfect week and earn a share of the March 15 Women's Varsity Western Division Player of the Week award.
Beginning on Friday, March 12, and running for less than 24 hours until Saturday, March 13, Felt and the Wolverines systematically worked their way to five straight victories to up the program's record to 20-6 on the year and clinch the Wolverines' 10th straight 20-win season.
Facing Gannon (16-3 W) and Mercyhurst (17-2 W) on March 12 at home in the opening games of the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Western Division slate, Felt pounded in pairs of goals against both opponents while chipping in a steal against Mercyhurst to help Michigan open the conference schedule with a 2-0 mark.
At the Wolverine Invitational on Saturday she scored twice and added a pair of assists against Iona (14-7 W), scored twice with an assist and three kick-outs drawn versus Grove City (18-5 W) and dished out an assist in a 16-3 victory over Siena.
Felt shares the award with Nicole Redder of Indiana University.
