Air Force's Shelby Schaefer Named March 8 Women's Collegiate Club Southwest Division Player of the Week
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- The United States Air Force Academy's Shelby Schaefer (Fr., Roseville, Calif./St. Francis) scored 21 goals over five games to lead the Lady Falcons to the Charles Dutton Memorial Tournament title game and earn the March 8 Women's National Collegiate Club Southwest Division Player of the Week award.
Competing in Dallas, Texas for the Dutton Tournament title during a break from Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Southwest Division play, the Lady Falcons defeated Denton 18-8 and 14-7, tied the Dallas Women's Team 10-10, defeated The Storm 18-8 and lost a heart-breaking game to Dallas 11-10 in the final seconds of the championship game to take runner-up honors in the tournament.
The Lady Falcons will next be in CWPA action on April 10-11 at the Southwest Division Championship hosted by the University of Arizona.
