Harvard's Devan Kennifer Named March 8 Women's Varsity Northern Division Player of the Week
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Harvard University's Devan Kennifer (So., Monterey, Calif./Santa Catalina) contributed 10 goals, including six in a 13-12 OT win against Bucknell University, to lead the Crimson at the Elite Eight Tournament hosted by Indiana Univeristy and earn the March 8 Women's Varsity Northern Division Player of the Week award.
A four-time honoree by the Collegiate Water Polo Association league office after receiving the February 9 and 16 Rookie of the Week and March 30 Player of the Week awards last season, she tallied a hat-trick in a 13-10 opening round loss to the University of Maryland at the Elite Eight.
In the second round, she posted a goal in a 12-6 loss to No. 20-nationally ranked Princeton University before exploding for six goals, including a pair in overtime, against the Bison to power the Crimson to victory.
