Michigan's Alex Adamson Named February 22 Women's Varsity Western Division Rookie of the Week

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- University of Michigan goalie Alex Adamson (Fr., Coronado, Calif./Coronado) earned the first two wins of her collegiate career against Harvard University and Wagner College to garner notice as the February 22 Women's Varsity Western Division Rookie of the Week.

She helped the No. 5-nationally ranked Wolverines go 4-0 at the Princeton Invitational as Michigan knocked off No. 20 Princeton University (13-10 W), No. 12 Hartwick College (14-11 W), Harvard University (13-3 W) and Wagner College (12-5 W).

Making the second and third starts of her collegiate career, Adamson made 11 saves on 14 shots against the Crimson of Harvard, adding an assist and a steal to the effort, before tallying eight saves with a pair of assists against Wagner.

She is the third Wolverine to earn the award this season joining classmates Kiki Golden (Fr., Danville, Calif./Monte Vista) and Lauren Colton (Fr., Tustin, Calif./Tesoro) who garnered the January 25 and February 8 awards, respectively.
