Brown's Lauren Presant Named February 22 Women's Varsity Northern Division Player of the Week
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Lauren Presant (Sr., Poway, Calif./Poway) of No. 18-nationally ranked Brown University scored 16 goals, including eight in a 13-11 loss to No. 20 Princeton University, to lead the division in goals, help the Bears to a 3-1 record at the Princeton Invitational and earn the February 22 Women's Varsity Northern Division Player of the Week award.
The Bears started the tournament with an 8-2 win against George Washington University as Presant buried a pair of markers. After scoring a goal in a 15-4 victory over Gannon University, she netted five tallies in a 14-11 win over Iona College.
Her best game of the weekend came in the upset loss to Princeton as she registered five of her game-high eight markers during a 5-2 fourth quarter run to pull the Bears within striking distance of the Tigers.
The all-time leading goal scorer in Bears' history with 276 scores to date, Presant is averaging 3.5 goals per game through the season's first six games with 21 tallies.
