No. 18 Brown University Upends Iona 14-11 at Princeton Invitational

PRINCETON, N.J. -- Seniors Sarah Glick and Lauren Presant scored five goals apiece to help lead the No. 18-nationally ranked Brown University women's water polo team to a 14-11 victory against Iona College during the final day of the Princeton Invitational.

The Bears earned a 6-3 advantage over the Gaels after the first quarter and extended their lead to 9-4 heading into halftime.  Brown's offense continued to roll through the third quarter outscoring Iona 4-2 to increase the score to 13-6 with the help of Glick and Presant.  The feisty Gaels didn't back down and made a run in the fourth to outscore Bruno 5-1, but the tough Bears held them off and earn the victory.

Glick and Presant carried the offense with five goals each, while junior Rita Bullwinkel chipped in with two and rookie Katharine Booher and junior Joanna Wohlmuth each added one. Senior Stephanie Laing once again led Brown's defense with nine saves in the cage, and also assisted on a goal.
