No. 20 Princeton University Tops Colorado State 12-8

PRINCETON, N.J. -- The 20th-ranked Princeton University women's water polo team improved to 2-1 with a 12-8 win over Colorado State University on day one of the Princeton Invitational at DeNunzio Pool.

Princeton managed a split of its games on Saturday after a loss to fifth-ranked Michigan in the morning.

In the nightcap, the Tigers jumped to a 2-0 lead on first quarter goals from Cari Levine and Helen Meigs and never looked back in the win. Meigs and Saranna Soroka led the Tigers with three goals each and Lauren Brunner added two more goals.

Meigs contributed four assists in addition to her three goals. Kristen Ward made 11 saves in goal, stopping a game-high four shots in the third quarter.
