Navy's Kyle Wertz Named September 8 CWPA Southern Division Rookie of the Week

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- United States Naval Academy left-hander Kyle Wertz () started all four games and led the No. 10 nationally ranked Midshipmen with eight goals at home in the Navy Open to earn the September 8 Collegiate Water Polo Association Southern Division Rookie of the Week award.

He tallied four goals in the Middies' 14-6 win over Concordia College (Calif.) and posted a pair of scores in a 9-8 victory over No. 12 ranked and CWPA rival Saint Francis College (N.Y.).  In addition, he scored twice against Fordham University in helping Navy to a 15-6 win in his first collegiate game.
