Michigan State Holds Off Challenge, Remains No. 1 in Oct. 29 Club Poll
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Michigan State University received 96 points to remain No. 1 in the October 29 Men's Collegiate Club Poll. The Spartans, who have held the No. 1 spot for six weeks, survived a challenge from the University of California-Los Angeles as UCLA garnered 95 points to move within a single point of tying Michigan for the top spot.
Cal Poly State University, Arizona State University, the University of Pennsylvania and Florida International University held firm at No. 3 through 6 as only seven of the 20 teams ranked in the poll retained their rankings from the October 22 balloting.
The University of Utah and Lindenwood University both moved up one place to No. 7 and 8, respectively, while Pennsylvania State University slipped to ninth and Grand Valley State University moved up to 10th to round out the Top 10 in the poll.
Dartmouth College and the University of Arizona traded positions to rank No. 11 and 12, Purdue University moved to 13th, the University of Florida took over 14th, while Oregon State University and Indiana University jumped to 15th and 16th.
No. 17 Texas A&M University was one of three teams to move into the Top 20 this week joining No. 19 the University of Minnesota and No. 20 Duke University.
The University of Central Florida rounds out the poll as the team remained at No. 18 after ranking there in the October 22 poll.
