Nov. 17 National Men's Water Polo Statistics Released
NEW YORK, N.Y. -- The National Men's Water Polo Statistics for the week of November 17 were released by the Wagner University Sports Information Office with Collegiate Water Polo Association members among the nation's best for yet another week.
In scoring, seven of the Top 20 scorers play in the CWPA as Iona College's Joe Przekota (3rd, 74 goals in 31 games, 2.39 gpg), Johns Hopkins University's Peter Davis (5th, 68 goals in 26 games, 2.62 gpg), Mercyhurst College's Alex Moggridge (7th, 63 goals in 23 games, 2.74 gpg) and Andrew Schonhoff (15th, 58 goals in 25 games, 2.32 gpg), Saint Francis College's Nemanja Pucarevic (10th, 62 goals in 23 games, 2.70 gpg), Brown University's Grant LeBeau (18th, 56 goals in 25 games, 2.24 gpg) and Washington & Jefferson College's Steve Hilty (19th, 56 goals in 27 games, 2.07 gpg) rank at the top of the national rankings.
On the other side of the tank, nine of the nation's 20 best goalies play on the East Coast as Washington & Jefferson College's John Todd (1st, 340 saves in 27 games, 12.59 spg), Johns Hopkins University's Chris Hutchens (3rd, 269 saves in 25 games, 10.76 spg), Mercyhurst College's Andy Sekulski (4th, 266 saves in 25 games, 10.64 gpg), Fordham University's Timmy Will (8th, 244 saves in 24 games, 10.17 spg), Gannon University's Darren Stone (11th, 237 saves in 21 games, 11.29 spg), Iona College's Eric Konzem (13th, 226 saves in 29 games, 7.79 spg), the United States Naval Academy's Brett Rajchel (16th, 201 saves in 26 games, 7.73 spg), Saint Francis College's Nikola Djuric (17th, 201 saves in 23 games, 8.74 spg), and Princeton University's Mike Merlone (18th, 199 saves in 20 games, 9.95 spg) rank in the national statistics.
In the team rankings, Saint Francis College leads the nation in team offense (287 goals in 23 games, 12.48 gpg), while Johns Hopkins University (7th, 329 goals in 30 games, 10.97 gpg), Brown University (10th, 275 goals in 26 games, 10.58 gpg), Massachusetts Institute of Technology (11th, 199 goals in 19 games, 10.47 gpg), the United States Naval Academy (13th, 271 goals in 26 games, 10.42 gpg), Iona College (15th, 322 goals in 32 games, 10.06 gpg), Mercyhurst College (18th, 248 goals in 25 games, 9.92 gpg), Fordham University (19th, 247 goals in 25 games, 9.88 gpg) and Princeton University (20th, 256 goals in 26 games, 9.85 gpg) round out the CWPA representation in the Top 20.
On defense, the CWPA is also represented as Saint Francis College (3rd, 164 goals in 23 games, 7.13 gpg), the United States Naval Academy (6th, 199 goals in 26 games, 7.65 gpg), Mercyhurst College (7th, 198 goals in 25 games, 7.92 gpg), Princeton University (15th, 233 goals in 26 games, 8.96 gpg) rank among the nation's Top 20 teams in fewest goals allowed.
