Johns Hopkins' Mark Strickland Named Nov. 10 South Rookie of the Week
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Johns Hopkins University's Mark Strickland (Fr., Houston, Texas/Strake Jesuit) scored two goals and handed out an assist while drawing four kickouts in leading the Blue Jays to a third place finish at the Southern Division Championship to earn the November 10 Southern Division Rookie of the Week award.
The award marks Strickland's second Rookie of the Week nod this year as he previously earned the award on September 15.
He scored one goal and added an assist with one kick out drawn as Hopkins defeated No. 20 Bucknell University 11-9 in the third place game as the Blue Jays picked up their first win in 12 meetings against the Bison. Against the United States Naval Academy in the second round, he scored a goal and drew two kick outs in a 16-6 loss after drawing one kick out in a 11-7 opening round win over Mercyhurst College.
