Allison Peotter Named 2009 George Washington Women's Water Polo MVP
WASHINGTON, D.C. -
Allison Peotter (Fr., Newport Beach, Calif./Corona Del
Mar) was named the women's water polo team's Most Valuable
Player at George Washington University's annual Senior Honors
Luncheon on the GW campus Monday.
Peotter enjoyed one of the finest freshman seasons in women's
water polo history, pacing the Colonials in goals (49), assists
(35), points (84), steals (75) and swim-offs won (70). She set
single-season records with 35 assists and 70 swim-offs, while her
84 points and 75 steals were the third-most in one season in
program history.
En route to being the first GW freshman to be named First Team
All-South, Peotter was chosen CWPA Southern Division Rookie of the
Week three times and became the first player in league history to
earn Player and Rookie of the Week honors in the same week on March
24.
