Indiana's Lauren Wyckoff Named March 9 Western Division Player of the Week
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Indiana University utility player Lauren Wyckoff (So., Los Altos, Calif./Los Altos) led the Hoosiers in scoring with 11 goals last week to earn the March 9 Western Division Player of the Week award as the team opened up Western Division play with a perfect 4-0 record at the University of Michgian.
Her best game of the week came against Grove City College as she scored a career-high five goals, to go along with three steals and one kickout drawn in a 15-2 victory.
She tallied three goals, one steal and one kick-out drawn in a 15-2 win over Chatham College, before racking up two goals with a pair of assists and a steal in a 14-1 win over Washington & Jefferson College.
Wyckoff concluded her weekend with a goal, assist and a kick-out drawn in a 14-0 victory over Penn State University-Behrend as she raised her season totals to 16 goals, seven assists and nine steals for 44 goals, 40 assists and 46 steals in her career.
The award snaps the University of Michigan's string of 10 consecutive weeks earning the Western Division Player of the Week award dating back to April 14, 2008. The last non-Michigan player to earn the award was Indiana center Maggie Hannon (Jr., Ann Arbor, Mich./Huron) on April 7, 2008.
